Museum closure opens new doors

After 34 years at 18 W. Benton, the museum is closing its doors. “The pandemic has taught us lessons about the new realities of physical space,” said Nick Scalan, Board President. Instead of a permanent physical space, the museum is transitioning to a STEM education resource, provider, and convener.
Key resources such as Starlab, a portable planetarium, and favorite hands-on curriculum will retained. Faith Slowinski, the Executive Director at SciTech, added, “Right now, we are looking for partners and innovative opportunities to leverage SciTech’s brand and unique assets while strengthening Aurora and the Fox Valley’s STEM network moving forward.”
