Party Planning That’s a Piece of Cake
Does the thought of entertaining a roomful of guests who are not yet a decade past the “Terrible Twos” make your knees tremble? Dr. Shawn knows how you feel and is here to help.

A birthday party can be a wonderful, memory-making event that your child will remember all their lives if you keep it simple, well organized and easy on yourself. After all, you want memories, too, and Happy Mommies make for Happy Parties.

The most frequent questions we get from mothers planning a party are 1) How many children to invite? 2) What is the order of the party’s activities and their duration? 3) How do I keep from going crazy?

Dr. Shawn will answer the last question first. Good parties don’t happen. They are a result of planning and organization. Properly done they are a lot of fun, both for the birthday child, their siblings, their guests and the mother of the host child. Organization is the key to keep from being overwhelmed. Dr. Shawn has seen hundreds of parties. He knows!
After years of studying the problem, Dr. Shawn has discovered the secret to a happy and successful birthday party: let someone else handle all the problems!

This is where SciTech comes in. We make it as simple as possible for you, your child, and your child’s friends to have a great party. All you have to do is decide:

  • Who you want to invite
  • The date and time you want the party

Dr. Shawn’s crack staff will handle everything else.

When Can You Have The Party?
During the school year SciTech hosts parties only on Saturdays and Sundays. During the summer vacation, we host parties every day of the week.
Party Levels - SciTech offers two levels of Science Safari Parties

Silver
Our basic package

  • Admission to the museum with unlimited access to the 200+ interactive exhibits for the birthday child, two parents, and up to 10 guests.
  • A private decorated room for an hour and a half
  • A Science Safari Guide for help and assistance with the children.
  • A participatory science activity for all guests
  • Four hours of validated parking in the Stolp Avenue parking structure.
  • Invitations

Additional guests are $7 each.
$155 for non-members
$135 for members

Gold
Everything in the Silver package PLUS:

  • A 30-minute science show/demonstration by one of our trained Exhibit Guides
  • Birthday cake, punch, tablecloths, plates, napkins, and cups.
  • A $10 gift certificate for the birthday child to use in our museum store plus a 10% discount for all purchases made by your guests that day.
  • Fifty percent discount passes for all your guests for a return visit to SciTech.

Additional guests are $7 each
$195 for non-members
$180 for members

Invitations
SciTech will supply you with invitations. If your child’s guests have email, we will be happy to mail out a specially designed e-invitation to each child. Snail-mail invitations are also available. All invitations have a map to SciTech and our parking structure around the corner. We validate four hours parking in the municipal parking structure.Easy Clean Up: SciTech will do all the cleaning. All you need to do is enjoy the day.

Regular bags are $3 each
Deluxe Bags are $5 each

Goodie Bags are only available upon request given at least 48 hours in advance.
